2016 has been a blessing for Oscar Colato. He received the “Sergio Horcos Memorial Spirit Award” for his work helping kids in El Salvador. A part of every commission helped build an elementary school in his home country in 2008 and he still supports the school to this day because of the lack of financial aid from the government. This award was created in honor of RE/MAX Professionals agent Sergio Horcos, who passed away four years ago, for his work in the community and the real estate industry.
Colegio San Francisco Javier in the city of El Transito, department of San Miguel, is an institution that promotes comprehensive education, generating spaces to spread the arts and scientific investigation and the promotion of sports and spiritual formation. It provides a safe place to learn away from the influences of the gangs affecting the rest of the public schools in El Salvador. El Transito was declared a city in 1992 by the initiative of Oscar’s dad, professor Oscar Joaquin Colato, while he was the municipal mayor. Currently El Transito is one of the most important cities in the Eastern part of the country and is known for its booming commerce and agriculture.
This year, Oscar Colato has been recognized in the prestigious 2016 Top 250 Latino Agents ranking. The fifth annual report released by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) honors exceptional Latino real estate agents in the U.S., and is based on 2015 sales performance.
Team Colato is among the 2,691 RE/MAX agents and teams featured in the 2016 REAL Trends “America’s Best Real Estate Agents” survey. The agents included in the survey represent less than 1 percent of all real estate professionals in the United States. Also, Team Colato was nationally recognized in the eleventh annual REAL Trends “The Thousand,” as advertised in The Wall Street Journal.
“Our number one priority is to help our clients have the best possible experience when selling or buying a home,” said Oscar Colato. “Being recognized alongside so many hard working and dedicated real estate professionals is an accomplishment, and we’re honored to be named among ‘America’s Best’. We owe it to our clients to give back to our community. We wouldn’t be able to do it without their trust.”
Oscar has also qualified for the esteemed RE/MAX Platinum Club Award. In 2015, less than seven percent of all active RE/MAX agents received this award.
“As a team, we believe in giving back, as a community as well as a global scale”, said Colato. Being RE/MAX agents, the team donates a portion of every sale to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital in the name of each buyer or seller. RE/MAX is a proud supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network, through which children can receive treatment for diseases such as asthma, heart disease, birth defects, and physical injuries. Individuals like the agents in Team Colato provide the Miracle Network with the funds needed for state-of-the-art equipment, programs, and support services to Phoenix families.
